Williamsburg/Yorktown

Williamsburg and Yorktown occupy the northwest corner of Arlington County. Many of the street names allude to Williamsburg and Yorktown’s prior inhabitants. The Powhatan tribe is known to have lived in the area prior to colonial settlement.

Minor Hill – the largest hill in Arlington – can be found in Williamsburg. This was a valuable resource during the Civil War, as the hills height allowed for observation and signal communication.
